Our Year 6 Open Evening is due to take place at 6.00pm on Tuesday 30 September 2025.
The evening is always a busy one and despite the hectic nature of the event we provide on-site car parking for all visiting families.
The evening consists of an opportunity to hear our Headteacher tell you about the school and to determine whether it is the right for your child.
There is also a chance to tour the entire site in order to get a flavour of everything that goes on all over our building – whether it be wonderful aromas in the Food room, startling explosions in Science, mental magic in Maths, or the chance to talk to people from the dim and distant past in History.
There are also plenty of opportunities to dig behind the gloss and excitement of the Open Evening experience to uncover what day-to-day school life is like for students and parents – whether that be through talking with students, parents (from our PTFA), or school governors (many of whom are or have been parents at the school too).
There are up to four Headteacher presentations so if the first one is missed then it is not a problem. Tickets are given out on arrival for the series of sessions, but equally many families get around the school and with so much going on find it is difficult to tear themselves away.
There is also lots of information available in advance – to view our Prospectus click here.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We always have a fantastic evening staging our Open Evening event. It gives us all a wonderful chance to reflect and enjoy what we do – whilst also helping families deicide if we are the right fit for their child. We give a lot to our students and expect both students and families to give equal in return, and though all the evidence shows this reaps huge rewards for our students, it is not an approach for everyone. Certainly, it will be wonderful to meet our potential cohort later this half-term, before getting those that do join us to meet everyone from their fun-packed Transition Days in Summer 2026.”
