Music Tuition

Our school offers an extensive range of music tuition sessions for both instrumentalists and singers.

Full details are in our Instrumental Lesson Information 2025-2026 leaflet which can be viewed here.

These sessions range from those for complete beginners to others who are taking the Grade Exams in their chosen instrument(s).

Our skilled tutors offer tutorials on baritone, cello, clarinet, cornet, drums, flute, guitar, keyboard, piano, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, viola, violin, as well as vocal work.

The tutorials take place during the school day, run for 25mins and are usually run in pairs or small groups. The schedules are displayed in the Music corridor on a set noticeboard.

There are numerous opportunities through the school year to perform publicly; whether it be the Dedication Service and the Carol Concert, ‘Battle of the Bands’ and ‘Encore’, or the School Shows and ‘The Summer Sizzler’.

The sessions are all partially funded to some extent with:

  • £320 for the full academic year.
  • £150 for the full academic year for GCSE & A-Level students (for 1 instrument only).
  • £100 for the full academic year for students receiving Free School Meals in the last 5 years (for 1 instrument only).

All tutors are booked on a termly basis – so no mid-term reimbursals are possible – and payments must be made on three windows:

  • Friday 25 August 2025
  • Friday 5 December 2025
  • Friday 27 March 2026
