Music Tuition

Our school offers an extensive range of music tuition sessions for both instrumentalists and singers.

These sessions range from those for complete beginners to others who are taking the Grade Exams in their chosen instrument(s).

Our skilled tutors offer tutorials on baritone, cello, clarinet, cornet, drums, flute, guitar, keyboard, piano, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, viola, violin, as well as vocal work.

The tutorials take place during the school day, run for 25mins and are usually run in pairs or small groups. The schedules are displayed in the Music corridor on a set noticeboard.

There are numerous opportunities through the school year to perform publicly; whether it be the Dedication Service and the Carol Concert; or ‘Battle of the Bands’ and ‘Encore’; or the School Shows and ‘The Summer Sizzler’.

The sessions are all partially funded to some extent with:

  • £270 for the full academic year.
  • £120 for the full academic year for GCSE & A-Level students (for 1 instrument only).
  • £80 for the full academic year for students receiving Free School Meals in the last 5 years (for 1 instrument only).

All tutors are booked on a termly basis – so no mid-term reimbursals are possible – and payments must be made on three windows:

  • Friday 23rd August 2024
  • Friday 6th December 2024
  • Friday 28th March 2025
