Home-School Agreement
Our school is committed to working alongside our parents and carers and seek to ensure that this partnership is clearly laid out so both partners have clear guidance and guarantees.
We very much take the view that we work for each child and our relationship with parents and families is to this end. Home and school may not always agree on emphasis and approach, but we both need to respect that we are both working to the same common goal of success, happiness and well-being.
Our partnership expectations are laid out in our Home-School Agreement which is expected to be adhered to by a parent / carer of every child and is a key component of your child opting to enlist at our school. It contains the following expectations:
School Commitment
The school will make every effort to:
- Provide a safe and stimulating environment for your child.
- Contact parents if there is a problem with attendance, punctuality, uniform or equipment.
- Let parents know about any issues that might affect their child’s work or behaviour.
- Keep parents informed about their child’s progress and welfare.
- Set and mark regular homework and provide facilities for children to do homework in school.
- Arrange parents’ evenings during which progress can be discussed.
- Keep parents informed about school activities.
- Treat parents with care and respect whilst maintaining the focus on their child.
Parent / Carer Commitment
As a parent / carer I will make every effort to:
- See that my child goes to school regularly, on time and properly equipped.
- Contact the school about any issues that might affect me child’s attendance, work or behaviour.
- Support the school’s policies and guidelines for behaviour.
- Ensure that my child abides by the school uniform policy.
- Support my child in homework and other opportunities for independent learning.
- Attend parents’ evenings and discussions about my child’s progress.
- Treat school staff with care and respect and accept that that they are working for their child.
Student Commitment
As a student I will make every effort to:
- Attend the school regularly, on time and properly equipped.
- Follow the school’s Code of Conduct and behaviour policy.
- Wear the correct uniform at all times.
- Complete classwork and homework to the best of my ability.
- Always be polite and show respect to others.
- Keep the school tidy, well-kept and free from litter and graffiti.
- Act as a good role model for the school.
- Treat school staff with care and respect and accept that they are working in your interests.
