Last night our Year 11 students celebrated their Prom in style at Branston Golf & Country Club.
This venue have hosted our Prom for several years, and once again the team there did a great job in helping to create a memorable evening.
The festivities began with the traditional arrival procession, with students making their entrances in a wide range of eye-catching vehicles. Sports cars, a fire engine, motorbikes, limousines and even a tuk-tuk all featured, showcasing the creativity and individuality of our Friary students.
Students then made their way along the red carpet, where they were welcomed into the venue by staff and had photographs taken in front of our flower wall.
The evening offered a fantastic range of entertainment and activities, including photo booths, balloons and inflatables, an ice-cream van, roulette tables, sweets, raffles, an excellent live band, food and refreshments, and much more besides.
This year’s Prom was also significant as it marked the final event overseen by Assistant Headteacher Mrs Grigg before her forthcoming retirement. Her hard work and dedication have helped countless young people both academically and in organising memorable occasions for students – be it trips, visits, Proms or celebration assemblies.
Mark Drury, Headteacher, said: “Prom is a special milestone for students and it was wonderful to see so many Year 11s attending and looking fantastic in their suits and gowns. Their families can be incredibly proud of them, and the atmosphere throughout the evening was one of celebration and fun.”
