Free online safety course for parents
In News /
As part of the Friary’s ongoing commitment to online safety, we are pleased to offer a free web-based course for parents, run by the National Online Safety National College. The Award in Online Safety for Parents is an informative and enjoyable video-based course hosted by Myleen Klass. The modules covered include common risks children face and the types of apps and websites they may come across. Put together by experts, this course takes you on a detailed journey through your child’s digital habits, explaining the online world they are experiencing today, the risks they may encounter and, crucially, what you can do to support them.
What’s more, every certificate of completion emailed to onlinesafety@friaryschool.co.uk will be entered into a prize draw for a £30 Amazon voucher before the end of the school year, Friday, July 17th.
Our Online Safety Lead, Steve Neale, said:
“We are always looking for new ways to work together with families to help young people stay safe, informed and confident online. The digital world presents fantastic opportunities, but it can also be challenging for both teenagers and parents to navigate. This course offers practical, up-to-date advice in a clear and engaging format, helping parents better understand their child’s online experiences and start meaningful conversations at home. We would encourage as many parents and carers as possible to take advantage of this excellent free resource.”
