Residents of The Spires care home visited The Friary school last week, spending an afternoon with pupils from our Year 10 Health and Social Care class.

The school hosted the residents for lunch, including sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks, which the pupils helped to serve before organising a series of games for our visitors.

Students led the residents in a number of card games, introduced them to connective sand – and also played Connect Four!

Mrs Simkiss, lead teacher, said: “Our pupils made us proud, interacting naturally with the guests and asking lots of questions about their life, family and interests.”

Both pupils and visiting residents enjoyed the experience of interacting with people from a different age range.
