During a recent Year 10 Health and Social Care lesson, we had the privilege of a visit from a Dementia Ambassador.
The ambassador came into school to talk about the Dementia Friends initiative.
The session covered the five key messages of the programme, along with information which helped students to understand the degenerative condition in more detail. The ambassador explained, with stories and examples, that this is a sadly misunderstood disease.
At the end of session, pupils received a Dementia Friends badge.
Mrs Simkiss, lead teacher, said: “I’m proud to wear my Dementia Friends badge, and I know the students are too. It was a really informative session.”
