Miss Wright, Johnson’s Head of House, nominated Bethan F (Year 8) for “getting involved with all school has to offer.” Not only does Bethan “work hard in lessons,” she is part of many school teams and actively supports House competitions, such as representing Johnson in debates and quizzes.
 
Toby B (Year 7) was nominated from Seward House by Mr Sleigh, who described Toby’s attitude to school as “outstanding.” Toby’s Head of House also reflected that Toby does a “great job” with his various responsibilities both in and out of school. Mr Sleigh commented that Toby is a role model to others and can be “really proud” of his first year at The Friary.
 
Darwin’s Head of House nominated Year 9 student Phoebe B for “working incredibly hard this academic year” with “brilliant” behaviour and conduct. Mr Britton also reflected on Phoebe’s very positive academic progress.
 
Miss Golder nominated Emilia (Year 7) as her Star of the Week. Ella’s award is for her “amazing performance” in the Year 7 House debate. Ella ensured her team was fully prepared and ended up being named “Most Valuable Debater.”
 
Mark Drury, Headteacher, said: “It was lovely to meet this week’s Stars of the Week. I know two of this week’s nominees have had a really busy week with the school production, but all of them clearly make the most of their opportunities in school, both in and out of the classroom.”
