The Department for Education (DfE) offers practical support for parents on its Kids Online Safety website. This is designed to help parents and carers feel more confident on the steps you can take to protect your child online. The updated website can be accessed here: Kids online safety

The Friary is proud to be a beacon school for online safety and to hold the South West Grid for Learning Online Safety Mark accreditation.

While it isn’t a school’s role to police the internet or social media, we are committed to support families to help children stay safe online and navigate the digital world confidently.

As our Online Safety Lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, Mr Neale has extensive experience of the issues that can affect our students and families. Drawing on this local knowledge, he has overseen the development of our own Online Safety Toolkit for Parents, which can be accessed here.
