This week saw Bethany, Nancie, and Jonny nominated by their respective Heads of House.
Jonny, the nominee for Seward House, put in a Man of the Match performance in last week’s Y9 boys football game, helping to steer his side to the District Cup Final. He performs well off the pitch too – with 100% attendance and a fine behaviour record. Mr Sleigh, as Head of Seward, wanted to ensure Jonny’s “hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.”
Nancie, also from Year 9, was nominated for going “above and beyond with all opportunities in school.” This includes “form, lessons, House Week and taking part in extra-curricular activities,” such as this week’s Encore performances. Nancie has accrued over 1,000 achievement points this year, an incredible achievement.
Bethany was recognised by Miss Golder for her “achievement and dedication to Garrick House.” This week Bethany earned Full Colours and, in the Year 11 Achievement Assembly, was recognised for having never earned a behaviour point in her entire school career to date. Bethany is intending to return to Sixth Form, so her successful journey at The Friary is not likely to end any time soon.
Lucy Arrowsmith, also from Year 11, was nominated from Darwin House by Mr Britton.
Mr Drury said: “It was lovely to meet students who are successful in a variety of places – on the sports field, on the stage, and in the classroom. Above all, the Heads of Houses rewarded consistency this week – students who turn up every day, try hard and get involved.”
