Together with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), the Department for Education (DfE) have published new resources on their ‘Kids online safety’ website to help parents and carers understand and get support for online bullying and gaming. The updated website can be accessed here: Kids online safety

The Friary is proud to be a beacon school for online safety, holding the South West Grid for Learning’s Online Safety Mark accreditation.

Of course, it isn’t a school’s job to police the internet or social media. But, wherever we can, we support families with staying safe on the internet and negotiating the online world.

As our Online Safety Lead (and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead), Mr Neale has a great understanding of the issues our students and families sometimes face. He’s used this ‘local’ knowledge to oversee development of our very own Online Safety Toolkit for Parents.

Our Online Safety Toolkit for Parents can be found here.
