We were delighted to welcome Lichfield Bridgebuilders into school on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th March for our annual Y10 Employability Workshops.
In the workshops all students had a 10 to 15-minute interview with a volunteer interviewer. The interviewers are current or retired professionals with years of knowledge and expertise. For most of our students it was their first experience of an interview situation and, despite being prepped in advance, many of them were understandably nervous. As always, the volunteer interviewers were fantastic with the students, putting them at ease, giving them constructive feedback and excellent advice.
By the time they left the students were buzzing with excitement and brimming with confidence.
Mrs Barratt, Assistant Headteacher, said: “The students are very green at this stage in their career journey, but it’s a great opportunity for them to get a feel for an interview experience and build confidence in a safe and nurturing environment. The Year 10 students couldn’t have spoken more highly of the experience despite their initial nerves.”
