This week saw Sam, Hannah, Larna and Lydia nominated by their respective Heads of House.
Lydia, the nominee for Darwin House, is in Year 7 but has already impressed as an “excellent student” and was also recognised for demonstrating resilience. It is a significant achievement given Lydia is only in her second term at The Friary.
Hannah, from Year 9, was nominated from among Seward students for her “continued hard work across subjects,” her “outstanding contribution” to her form assembly, and leadership in creating a poster on university pathways for Seward House Exhibition Week and National Careers Week.
Larna, from Johnson House, and Sam, from Garrick, are both in Year 11. Larna is an elite sportswoman and Miss Wright took time to recognise the dedication required to juggle her significant training commitments whilst still working hard in school.
Sam was recognised by Miss Golder for his “excellent effort” in the run up to his mock exams, leading up to a “great performance” in them. Sam has nearly 800 achievement points and also has 100% attendance.
Mr Drury said: “It was lovely to meet students at very different points in their school careers. From those who are in the final run-up to their exams, with one in just the second term of her journey with us, to another at the crucial ‘pathways’ point in Year 9 – all were very deserving of their Heads of House’s recognition.”
