After a brief hiatus, ‘The Friary Pen’ E-Magazine has returned for December 2025 with an array of creative writing which sees reporting, story-telling, poetry and other contributions from students from all ages in our school.

This school magazine edition focuses on the theme of ‘Winter’ and is made up of students writing on topics including:

* Poetry
* Santa’s Maths Quiz
* A Christmas Carol
* Global Winter Celebrations
* A Recount of the Year 11 Trip to Paris
* Christmas Movies

Ashley Straw, lead teacher on the project, said: “We are delighted to publish out latest edition of ‘The Friary Pen’. It has been a delight to read and enjoy the writing of our students – covering an amazing range of topics – and over 40 students have come together to produce the copy. This version has gone out online, there are paper copies in tutor rooms, and a TV version playing around the school so the students’ writing is being celebrated all over.”
