Our Year 12 Health & Social Care students were invited to the opening of the new Blackberry Court retirement community.

Our students rang out Christmas songs for the residents and guests and took a tour around the new community complex.

Also, our students were able to view the benefits of assisted living and support in the local community and could ask staff questions about their work and the provision.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We were thrilled when Blackberry Court made contact with us as we very much seek to give our students a genuine insight into the world of work and the wider community. As the UK faces a growing elderly population this will create many jobs for young people and further shift the balance of society.”
