Sixth Form students were visited by a Road Safety Officer from Staffordshire County Council. Stuart who is an Ex-police officer, delivered an assembly sharing his own knowledge and experience about road safety. The assembly is always engaging and hard hitting for students as they grasp safety information and up to date statistics emphasising the reality of road safety.
Students learnt about the dangers of speeding, driving under the influence of drink and drugs, as well as how important it is to drive cautiously at all times. Stuart opened student’s eyes with shocking statistics and shared accounts of real-life cases, such as the fact that around a fifth of all those killed or seriously injured in car collisions involved a young driver.
Faye Bullock, Aspirations Coordinator, said: “It is vital that our students understand the importance of road safety and crucial they realise their responsibility to this and ensure it is always the main priority to be a safe driver”
