As part of our Raising Aspirations Programme, Year 12 students have taken part in Employability and Mock Interview Workshops. This was run in partnership with Lichfield Bridge Builders, who have supported our students on this programme for many years. During the workshops students looked at how to create a positive first impression, looking at appearance, body language and engagement. They then met with professional volunteers in a real style interview scenario.
Students shared positive feedback about their incredibly valuable insights and experiences. They particularly enjoyed receiving feedback, quoting: The interviews had improved their confidence, helped them prepare for future interviews and the feedback they received will help them grow in future interviews.
Faye Bullock, Careers and Aspirations Coordinator said: “Many of our students expressed enthusiasm about the workshops, and the valuable opportunity of preparing them with skills awareness and exposure to interviews, equipping them for the real opportunities they will face in the future. We appreciate the time that Lichfield Bridge Builders take to engage with our students, and hope to collaborate again in the future, to ensure all students can receive such valuable experiences. Our thanks and greatest appreciation goes to all of the wonderful work that the volunteers do to support us with this programme.
