Seward House Charity Week once again showcased the outstanding community spirit, determination and generosity of our students, families and staff. This year, the House came together again to raise money for Midlands Air Ambulance, and the results were nothing short of remarkable.

Across a fun-filled and energetic week, students threw themselves into a range of activities, all designed to raise funds for a life-saving cause. Final sponsorship still to come in next week then total amount raised will be announced.

Seward Run

Thursday afternoon saw the Seward Run, a 1.75km route that saw 124 Seward students take part. The atmosphere was fantastic as students pushed themselves, supported each other, and embodied true Seward spirit.

Thanks to the generosity of families and the dedication of the runners, this single event raised over £1,000 – an incredible achievement and a brilliant start to the week.

“I’m a Celeb: Teacher Edition”

One of the standout highlights was the I’m a Celeb: Teacher Edition, where over 200 students filled the theatre to watch four challenges featuring brave staff volunteers: Mr Perry, Mrs Bruss and Mr Sleigh.

The event was expertly organised by Mrs Jones, whose hard work ensured everything ran smoothly and even allowed students to join in on their way to lessons. The mix of laughter, suspense and friendly competition made this a memorable part of the week.

Cake Sales

Seward families once again proved their baking brilliance during the week’s Cake Sales. From brownies and cupcakes to cookies and countless other treats, the generosity and effort that went into the baking was clear to see. These stalls continue to be one of Seward’s biggest fundraisers, and this year was no exception. Huge thank you to all students, parents/families who contributed.

Lucky Dip

The much-loved Lucky Dip made a triumphant return, quickly becoming a huge hit among students. Created by the Seward House Council, the activity featured a box full of shredded paper hiding a range of surprises. A simple idea but executed very well by our students, this brought in impressive funds and plenty of smiles.

Guess the Name of the Elephant

Students also enjoyed the challenge of Guess the Name of the Elephant, with 100 possible names to pick from. Everyone eagerly awaited the big reveal of what Mr Allman’s mysterious “elephant in the room” was actually called!

This competition, along with the raffle, will be drawn on Monday, building even more excitement.

Raffle – Fantastic Prizes Up for Grabs

The Charity Week Raffle featured an amazing selection of prizes, including advent calendars, sweets, a go-karting voucher and even a football shirt. Students enthusiastically got involved, hoping to win one of the brilliant items on offer.

A Huge Thank You

Seward House Charity Week simply wouldn’t be possible without the support of our whole community. A massive thank you goes to all students, families and staff who contributed, participated or encouraged throughout the week.

Jamie Sleigh, Head of Seward Hosue, added: “We can’t do House Weeks without our House Council. I’m teaching most lessons and unable to get set up before the break/lunch time rush. A huge thanks to Isabel Davies, Georgia Bennett, Noah Morley, Maisie Botfield and Charlie Walters, who all supported the House in ensuring it all ran smoothly.”
