The Emerging Talent Takeover took place at Lichfield Guildhall with students from The Friary School filling the roster with a variety of Rock and Pop Bands. It was a fantastic opportunity for our music students to perform in venues within the local area, and Lichfield Arts are a great partner in providing excellent opportunities for our students.
The groups included “Shook” (Oli Purkis, Francis Shaw, Jacob Brooks) performing covers from groups like Muse, Foo Fighters and Rage Against the Machine and “Rehearsal Room” (Ava and Maddie Williams, Amelia Christofi, Sam Thackaberry) performing an eclectic mix of songs ranging from Ash to Billie Eilish.
Jon Hood, Head of Music, said: “The work we do with Lichfield Arts is invaluable in the opportunities that it provides for our students. We work hard to offer experiences that we cannot reproduce in the classroom, and the concerts that Lichfield Arts provide are an incredible opportunity for our students. The bands have been working incredibly hard to prepare for this event, and I am already looking forward to hearing what they produce for our own ‘Battle of the Bands’ concert in February.”
