We employ a skilled careers team in school – both school employees and external specialists too – in order to ensure that all of our students get the best possible careers advice to help them to make their way in the world.

Students complete surveys, attend careers talks, work in employability workshops, take part in mock job interviews, get support with apprenticeship and university applications, and there are the one-to-one meetings too.

The following email gives an example of the personalised support we give and was sent follow a face-to-face meeting to talk through routes. This email was sent to a Year 13 student who had expressed an interest in going into marketing. It reads like this:

The employer pays for your qualification and pay you a wage meaning you earn money and gain lots of experience.  Employers will continue to advertise each month for marketing apprenticeships, you just have to be registered on the link above and have an alert set up for marketing and any other searches linked to your careers or personal interests. This ensures that every time a match comes up for what you’re looking for, you will receive an alert, so you don’t miss an opportunity.
