Our Annual Year 11 Paris Trip for our GCSE French students was well attended and took in all of the sites of this wonderful city.

The opening day saw a trek from Le Jardin de Luxembourg, onto La Louvre (just before the robbery) and up to L’Arc de Triomphe – taking in some shopping time on the Champs d’Elysees. Following this, there was Seine Boat Cruise taking in the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and much more besides.

The second day saw a visit to La Sacre Couer, time spent in Montmatre and a visit to Pere Lachaise Cemetery.

The trip home included a drop-in the a local hypermarket to buy gifts – and then it was back via the tunnel – having crossed over via ferry on the way there to grab a breakfast stop.

All students benefitted from the chance to speak French, to tour a global city, to focus on their forthcoming mocks and final exams, and from 1-to-1 chats with the Headteacher on the coach to talk through where they were, where they wanted to be, and how they could best get there.

Sophie Grigg, Assistant Headteacher, said: “The Year 11s were fantastic to spend time with and took a huge amount out of the experience. There is always a groundswell of students insisting they are going to return to the city and recognising that they hv ether talent, energy and potential to make waves in our planet. Our school is all about opening children’s eyes up their potential and this trip did the trick once more.”
