Year 12 and 13 girls were visited by the Us Girls organisation to hear about the fantastic work they do and to drill up interest for volunteering opportunities.

Lichfield District have developed this programme to increase and sustain young women’s participation in sport and physical activity. The organisation delivers session targeting disadvantage and vulnerable women and girls within the District and provides a safe environment that enables women and girls to develop friendships and increase physical activity.

Faye Bullock, Aspirations Co-Ordinator, said: “Sixth Form student volunteers have an incredible opportunity to get involved in the meaningful projects US Girls provide. Each year students volunteer and benefit by developing new transferable skills such as leadership skills and experience volunteering and work experience roles. This is particularly beneficial for enriching CV, university, apprenticeship and job applications.”
