As we are all aware, AI developments continue at a pace, and staff at our school are working in partnership with our Primitas Academy Trust to develop policies and frameworks to guide and support stakeholders in the safe and ethical use of AI in schools.

Sam Sullivan (Assistant Headteacher) and Gemma Harris (Head of IT) are part of the working party which includes members of all schools in the Trust, along with Trust IT leads and Data Protection Officers. The group met on 17 September, to organise a 12-month roll-out programme of communication, acceptable use policies and CPD which will be implemented starting this term.

Gemma Harris, Head of IT, said, “We’ve all seen how AI is impacting on our daily lives, and it’s an exciting time to be investigating how developments in AI can support teaching and learning. We are looking forward to working across the Primitas Trust, to explore the benefits of AI, within the safe parameters and protections of the Acceptable Use Policies and agreed frameworks.”
