The rain did not dampen down our excitement to welcome our students back and their smiles were only returned by our staff who were pleased to see them.

Our opening day sees an extended tutor time so that handbooks, advice, changes, and reminders can be issued, then Period 2 the normal day rolls through.

We are delighted to see everyone – but it is particularly good to see our new Year 7s – all suited, booted and fresh from a barrage of photos in their new uniform at home. Equally, our new Sixth Form cohort in Year 12 arrived in their business wear and their first assembly looked like an Armani cat-walk.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “The first day is always fantastic – checking up on how students are, what they go up to, giving one or two a friendly reminder, and encouraging them to settle quickly and get cracking. We work hard on building relationships with our students – they are critical to happiness and success – and though there are always going to be to be odd flashpoints – we’d say we and our students do a great job overall. It is certainly good to be back.”
