Our Summer Sizzler went bigger and bolder than ever with more of everything as we went all our with our wonderful PTFA to raise school funds but more important to give record numbers of students a chance to perform on the big festival stage.
Our new staging system was hugely impressive and the succession of acts performed superbly well – with several going on that weekend to play the Fuse Festival with Lichfield Arts.
As well as watch the acts, visitors could go to the many stalls, support local charities like the Pathways Project via our Interact Club, bounce on castles, beat goalies, and even put themselves in the stocks. Meanwhile, our PTFA went flat out to cater for the 100s of ticket holders with food and drink – with plenty of runs to the shops for re-stocks as the hot sun made everyone especially thirsty.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “At the end of a hectic term, this is a big event to pull off, but our staff, students and PTFA went all out to make it a special night. The bands were superb and this event helps prepare musicians to take part in community events, before branching out regionally and nationally as they get older. There were a lot of tired faces on the Friday but it was well worthwhile.”
