One of the benefits in working together in an academy trust is that schools and different ages and stages can come up with innovative ideas to bring learning to life.
A recent partnership between The Friary School and Henry Chadwick Primary School saw secondary Science teachers work with primary students on exciting projects that brought new experiences and an increased familiarity with secondary-level learning.
The sessions includes a KS2 UFO Crash Site Crime Investigation which saw a crashed alien spacecraft requiring laboratory style analysis and a through exploration of alien life – right down to their bodily functions! Elsewhere, the Early Years and KS1 enjoyed an Exotic Animal Encounter featuring snakes, spiders, and other reptiles up close and personal.
Matt Allman, Primitas School Improvement Lead, said: “With our Trust being locally based, we are in an excellent position to work closely with one another, and that only helps our children. Our Trust’s primary schools do a superb job with their Science delivery, and our secondary staff love the chance to get involved and add their own take to the provision. “
