Both our Year 7 & 8 Rounders teams have successfully competed in Rounders Tournaments versus many other schools from across our local area.
Year 8 did brilliantly competing in a round robin, against 6 other schools. The final saw Friary in third place, only a couple of rounders off second. Excellent fielding helped keep the opposition from scoring in a lot of the games.
Meanwhile, Year 7 competed in their first tournament this week and played in a league format against 3 other schools. We beat Lichfield Cathedral, drew to Kingsmead but lost to King Edwards. However, these results qualified us into a semi-final against Chase Terrace. This game saw multiple fantastic hits and ended again in a 7-7 draw, but sadly they got more of our team out, which resulted in us finishing in third place overall.
Hollie Wright, team coach, said: “Well done to all involved, you were a credit to the school and your teamwork was fantastic throughout the events.”
