Our Year 8 students participated in the Step in, Speak Up Active Bystander Workshop, delivered in collaboration with Performance in Schools and Staffordshire County Council.

The session kicked off with a powerful 45-minute performance exploring real-life issues such as peer pressure, bullying, sexism and discrimination. This was followed by a thought-provoking workshop, giving students the opportunity to reflect on how they can act with confidence and compassion in challenging situations.

Led by Becky, Sam and Megan, the interactive workshop encouraged students to speak out and identify strategies to support others. Friary students rose to the challenge, sharing articulate and insightful responses that impressed the team throughout the afternoon.

Special recognition goes to Taylor Harrison, Belle Cope, and Kieran Gallagher for their outstanding contributions. Their thoughtful participation and impressive answers really stood out as some of the best they had received in recent weeks.

The Step in, Speak Up initiative supports our PSHE curriculum and is part of our ongoing commitment to developing responsible, empowered individuals who can make a difference both in and outside of school.
