The Year 11 Prom went with a bang at Branston Golf & Country Club – we have used this venue for several years now and the staff do a great job and go all out for us.
The evening began with a long procession of vehicles including sports cars, a monster truck, a motorbike, a tractor and even a mobility scooter ! There is never any lack of variety with our Friary students.
The students arrived to be clapped in by staff and to have their photos taken in front of our flower wall. Mums, Dads and everyone all crammed in to grab their snaps – it was a real family occasion.
The students entered the venue to Friary (edibly) badged cakes, photo booths, balloons galore, ice-cream vans, roulette wheels, raffles, a bar, food and more besides.
Later, the live band kicked off and the dancefloor was bouncing, before the picks ups began and the after Prom gatherings took hold.
Sophie Grigg, Assistant Headteacher and event organiser, said; “This is always an emotional time and the families that attended had every reason to be proud of how fantastic their children looked – whether with trailing gowns or sharp suits. We always try and make the event as spectacular as possible and it all went down very well. We have been grateful for the kind words that have come in from many parents last night and today.”
Matt Allman, Headteacher, added; “Huge thanks to our team who arranged this event and to those students who made it so very special. Branston kindly acknowledged to us that our Prom goes the extra mile and with as much fanfare as we can manage so it was great to get this feedback. We’ll make sure the photos go up around school for the next Year 11 cohort to see so they go all out to be successful and to be doing their own partying at next year’s Prom.”
