Our Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award cohort completed their expedition in searing heat this weekend and though there were some weary feet come Sunday, a good time was still had by all.

The group took to the Peak District so stunning scenery accompanied their trek. They walked through Monsal Dale and camped in Lathkilldale, and then near Hartington for the second night. They finished at Waterhouses after a final day walking through the Manifold Trail.

The expedition added to the volunteering and skills work they have undertaken and develop a range of soft skills, including team work, resilience and independence.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said; “Huge congratulations to the cohort – it was tough out there in the high temperatures but their determination got them through. Huge thanks to the staff who accompanied them – it is only their willingness to give up weekends for free that makes programmes like this happen.”
