Our Year 11 students had their ‘final day’ midst their exams and after sitting their CGSE Science exam they met up in the canteen for the customary shirt-signing, tears and smiles that characterise that all-important last day.,
The students were welcomed in with free food and drink and lots of staff made their way down to say their goodbyes.
In fact, all the students were in the very next day for their GCSE English Language exam, but the warmth and significance of this experience will only have added to their exam performance – not least because one question the next day asked them to recount a celebration!
Sophie Grigg, Assistant Headteacher, said; “The Year 11s have worked incredibly hard for these exams and it was good to grab a moment an celebrate them reaching this life landmark. They were fantastic through it, had come all prepared with shirts, pens, sequins, and even Scooby Doo, and as they left the school for officially the last time of their compulsory schooling, it was with smiles from the staff who think such a lot of them.”
