Darwin House hosted an incredible Charity Week that brought our school together for a meaningful cause, and the House Team are beyond proud of the students who contributed to its success.

The goal of the week was to raise money for Max & George’s Dogs Trust, a charity that does vital work in caring for and re-homing abandoned and neglected dogs.

The week was packed with activities that encouraged students and staff alike to get involved and show their support. It was also Pet Week at the school, adding an extra layer of excitement. Teachers and staff members went above and beyond by bringing in their pets, including dogs, snakes, and even cockroaches ! It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about animals, their care, and the responsibilities of pet ownership which was delivered our assemblies.

Darwin House students took charge and organised a series of events to raise funds and bring the community together. There were cake sales, bingo, ice cream stalls and a raffle which had some fantastic prizes to name a few.

Through their dedication and hard work, the students of Darwin House raised an astonishing amount -over £1,000 in cash and a generous supply of dog food and treats. This accomplishment speaks volumes about their passion and commitment to helping others.

The funds raised will go directly to The Max & George Dogs Trust, ensuring that more dogs will receive the care and attention they desperately need.

Our student leaders wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of Darwin House Charity Week. From the students who participated in the activities, to the staff who supported and encouraged them, and the families who donated goods, your involvement made all the difference. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Alex Britton, Head of Darwin House, said: “As a teacher, I couldn’t be prouder of how the students pulled together and made such a meaningful impact. The team-work, creativity, and compassion they displayed throughout the week were nothing short of inspiring.”
