As a school we are always very vocal at pushing apprenticeships – whether it be direct with students, via student / business group meetings, via Careers Week and similar promotions, at Partnership and Pathways Evenings, or via our website.
At the moment on the GOV.UK website there are:
44 apprenticeships on offer within 5 miles from Lichfield – see here.
260 apprenticeships on offer within 15 miles from Lichfield – see here.
We also have a great relationship with Balfour Beatty and they have flagged up some of their current career opportunities to share within the school – see here.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “With the increasing university costs, it is well worth looking at the apprenticeship route. This is why we push it so hard in school. This will be tougher next year as the Department for Education have announced they will no longer be funding Ask Apprenticeships – who have been a massive support to our school and students for many years – but we will continue to do all we can. Do check these links out and see if anything might apply to you or your child.”
