We entered two teams into the annual netball tournament at Chase Terrace and played a round robin against 6 other schools.
With the sun shining, and the girls eager to put their skills to work, both teams played well from the start. Each team played 7 games and throughout they worked excellently as a team.
Both teams came up against tough opposition but continued to fight and work hard to play their best in every game.
Our Friary Black Team were undefeated all afternoon – including two fabulous 10-0 wins over Nether Stowe and Kingsmead. Meanwhile, our Friary Red Team experienced both victory and defeat in the tournament.
At the end of the tournament Friary Blacks were crowned winners of the tournament and there were numerous compliments from other schools on how well they played. The winning team included Izzy Harrington (C), Ella Chambers, Sophie Wallace (POTT), Anaya Tucker, Sophie Antcliffe, Mollie Jackson, Andreea Dorobantu, Emeilia Jones and Grace Paddock.
Hollie Wright, team coach, said: “We were hugely proud of both teams and were thrilled to come out in top. There were excellent individuals in strong teams so for our girls’ hard work to end in the tournament win is wonderful.”
