Our recent Focus Week saw a celebration of Mothering Sunday with students being involved in assemblies and tutor time activities in order to learn about the role, the responsibilities and how important mothers are to shaping future lives.

Furthermore, as part of our school’s gratitude to our children’s mothers, we arranges for students to have the opportunity to nominate their mother for a gift that could celebrate Mother’s Day.

The nominees came in and lots of children won individually baked, decorated and wrapped cakes to take home. The children were thrilled with the gift and there were some fantastic conversations which took place as to why so many mothers were so very amazing.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “A successful child with us almost always has a mother (or father) at home who is supportive of both their child and our school. This is why we wanted to celebrate the role, give our students the chance to reflect on how they would be as a parent, and then to encourage children to reflection on their brilliant Mums to get them a gift. Earning a reward for Mum at school is a new angle, but it was fun, popular and even tasty too!”
