On our return to school we will be conducting uniforms checks to ensure that students retain the high standards that we expect of them after the return from the Xmas Break.

The school’s expectations are laid out on our website and in the Student Handbook so parents and students will be well-versed on them but key reminders include:

* Students must wear their blazers at school and coats should be worn over the top of the main school uniform, not as a replacement.
* Hoodies are not permitted in school and so should not be worn on site.
* Like coats, scarves and gloves may be worn, although these should be removed when in the building.
* Girls may choose to wear an extra pair of socks over tights but these should not be fluffy, bed / pyjama-style socks.
* Students may choose to wear a school jumper but this this should be plain black, a v-neck, and not have any logos on it.

The school heating will be on over the weekend to help make sure the building is as warm as it can be after the two-week shutdown and the cold snap coming over the next few days

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “When managing well over 1,000 students day-to-day uniform is an important standard to hold up expectations in all sorts of areas of school life. We expect parents to do their bit in supporting us on this so that we can focus our energies on making sure their children are well-prepped for exams, have plenty of extra-curricular activities, and are key safe and well both in and out of school.”
