Our Hospitality & Catering team are always challenging our students to develop new skills and our latest festive challenge saw them demonstrate how to use a bain-marie in the production of the icing for the yule log!
Over 5 classes took part and there were some amazing efforts from the students.
Special mentions go to Miah Walsh, Amelia Christofi, Ruby Cliffe, Callum Faulkner, Edward Crowther, Leyla Gwilt, Callie Meakin, Sam Willis and Ruby Hollywood all receiving some sweet treats for their efforts.
However, the top 5 were;
1st Place – Amber Athwal (Y11)
2nd Place – Pen Galway, Mailey Elcock & Poppy Birch (Y10)
3rd Place – Amber Witcomb & Romey Hazel (Y10)
4th Place – Mia Fradley (Y11)
5th Place – Daisy-Leigh Fenton & Grace Willetts (Y10)
Lottie Hearn, Deputy Headteacher, said: “Amidst what was a fun task, there was a lot of skills required and we were hugely impressed how the students managed. Our course covers a wide spectrum – from catering to service and management to health and safety – but amidst all of this hard work there is always time to eat a chocolate log.”
