The Friary PTFA stepped out into torrential rain to play its part in the Lichfield Round Table Santa Run for 2024 as part of our fund-raising work for our school.
As a school we were fortunate to be allocated one of the Fradley runs so we had a chance to drop in on Friary students – and having our Headteacher or Deputy Headteachers standing on the doorstep caused a few jaws to drop.
The run left everyone sodden but the money came in and kind-hearted families twice provided the group with welcome hot chocolates and treats to keep morale up.
Lottie Hearn, Deputy Headteacher, said: “Huge thanks to the hardy band of PTFA volunteers who took part in a wet and windy evening. Many of our great PTFA parents are from the Fradley area and It was still good fun. We all knew the money makes a huge difference in our school. We are also grateful to the Lichfield Round Table team for granting us a slot on the run and for running – or in Santa’s case sitting – with us through the evening.”
