Our Christmas Dinner is mammoth task – all the trimmings for a bargain price – and weeks of planning came together to feed what seemed like the 5,000 at times as multiple students and staff went large to get two dinners !
The festive plate included turkey, pigs in blankets, roasties, sprouts and more besides – and then there was a dessert, drinks and crackers too.
Added to all of this, our staff choir turned out to add to the streamers by belting out a mixture of carols and Christmas classics.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We work to nail the budget so that all our Free School Meals children all get a special Christmas meal, knowing for some it will be the only one they get. The costing is getting tougher and tougher but our wonderful canteen team did it. Our staff worked incredibly hard and the students thoroughly enjoyed it.”
