The competition for top universities and top degrees at Russell Group universities is intense, and the high university fees means that going to just any university is not necessarily a good or wise investment.
Consequently knowing our individual students well through our annual Raising Aspirations surveys, we have targeted information to our Year 11s applying for Sixth Form with us and looking further ahead to take up careers related to Law, Medicine, Veterinary Science and Dentistry.
The LNAT And UCAT Exams are part of the application process for these elite courses and are taken in the Autumn Term of Year 13. They are used by providers to determine who they accept on their courses and exam preparation is very important to succeeding in what is a very competitive field.
We also provided flyers containing topics like:
* Why study Law/Medicine ?
* Why do you need to sit the LNAT/UCAT exams ?
* Registering
* Scoring
* Practice papers
Helen Barratt, Assistant Headteacher, said: “Our careers and aspirations programme is consistently judged outstanding and our bespoke attention to individual students is part of us hitting this standard. If any other students want advice then we are always here to help. Certainly, getting the processes and challenges clear before tackling them is a wise step to take.”
