Cameron Woodley (Year 7) has been crowned Joint Winner of the Mayor and Sheriff’s Christmas Card Competition 2024 with his entry being selected out of a mountain of card designs.

Harriet Chatwin, Civic Officer for Lichfield City Council, contacted us to say: “A big thank you to you and all your pupils that entered our Christmas Drawing Competition for the Civics Christmas card. The Mayor and Sheriff were delighted with all the entries they received which made it a very tough decision to select a winner. However, after much deliberation, I am pleased to announce that they have chosen Cameron Woodley (7S1) as one of the two winners this year.”

Cameron’s art work will be making a splash throughout our region as the wining drawings are printed onto Christmas cards and will be sent out to over 300 dignitaries, civics, councillors and friends of Lichfield City Councill. Indeed, it will also go out internationally when it is sent to Lichfield’s twin towns of Limburg an der Lahn (Germany) and Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon (France).

Cameron also gets the chance to meet the Mayor and the Sheriff at the Mayor’s Parlour for tea and cake shortly before Christmas.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “Cameron has been fantastic since joining us in September and we are incredibly proud of him winning this competition. He is in a fantastic year group and we know Cameron and his cohort are all going to go on to do further great things.”
