Sixth Form scientists recently attended the Erasmus Darwin Memorial Lecture at the Garrick Theatre, Lichfield, which explored the development and use of AI technology, as well as the wider implications for the workplace and general society.

The lecture was led by Professor Michael Wooldridge from Oxford University.

Students enjoyed listening to the lecture and were active in the Q&A session that followed it.

Dave Brown, Head of Science, said: “We were delighted to take students to this superb lecture – both as a readiness exercise for Higher Education, but also as an insight into the world that these students are stepping into. There is no doubt that AI will play an increasing role in the workplace and wider society and it will only help our students to gain an insight into what lies ahead of them.”
