The first hockey training session of the new school year at The Friary School was a resounding success, with a fantastic turnout that exceeded all expectations. After a long summer break, it was wonderful to see so many students returning to the field, ready and eager to hit the ground running. The atmosphere was electric, with both returning players and newcomers showing incredible enthusiasm and commitment.
One of the highlights of the session was the introduction of several new faces to the squad, including a strong contingent of Year 7s making their debut. Their energy and passion for the sport was infectious, and it was inspiring to see them integrate seamlessly into the team. The older students were more than willing to lend a hand and offer guidance, creating a warm and welcoming environment for the new players.
Kim Fallows, our dedicated and enthusiastic hockey coach, was thrilled with the turnout and is excited about the year ahead: “It’s great to see so many students back, and it’s especially encouraging to have new players joining us,” she said. “We have a lot of upcoming fixtures lined up this year, and I can’t wait to see how our teams develop and perform. This is shaping up to be a fantastic year for hockey at The Friary School.”
“With so much talent and dedication on display at the first session, it’s clear that this will be an exciting year for the hockey program. As we move forward, there will be plenty of opportunities for students to test their skills in competitive matches, and we look forward to seeing what this dynamic and hardworking group can achieve.”
