The Friary School is delighted to see our Sixth Form students reap their rewards as their hard work and talent culminated in excellent exam results.
There were numerous success stories including the vast majority of students getting their first-choice university, others gaining superb apprenticeship placements, and the average A-Level grade of a B and Vocational grade of a Distinction holding our school up amongst the very best in the region.
More, though the all-important progress scores will await Department for Education measurements, amidst the COVID-impacted GCSE grade the cohort scored, the overall picture suggests our students performed wonderfully well against national standards.

Helen Barratt, Assistant Headteacher, said: “This was always going to be a testing Results Day as the students entered their Sixth Form courses off the back of COVID affected GCSE grades, but we are delighted with how the students have addressed their two-year courses and achieved these fantastic results. We are now sorting out the final university and apprenticeship placements and there is so much to be incredibly proud of.”
Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “This cohort have been through the mill in terms of having their school career disrupted through lockdowns and such but they impressed us throughout their time with us and have done so again on their Results Day. Having known all of the students well, and many of their families too, whether through school or in the wider community, it is a thrill to see their well-earned successes and we are looking forward to seeing them flourish in post-school life.”
