School Sports Day went off with a bang as Year 7-10 took to the track and field to do their tutor group and House pride.

There were a wide range of events including sprints, distance, long jump, high jump, discus, javelin, shot and more besides.

The performances built on the many successes we scored in regional athletics competitions and the standards we very high.

The final placings saw Darwin House claim the victory – though Johnson were only a fraction behind:

1St Place – Darwin – 840 Points
2nd Place – Johnson – 838 Points
3rd Place – Seward – 792 Points
4th Place – Garrick – 744 Points

Lottie Hearn, Deputy Headteacher, said: “The staff pulled together a superb day and with so many events running through the week, the final afternoon saw the sprints and relays take centre stage – along with the ever popular tug-of-war. All the participants deserve the plaudits, but the face-painting, banners and chanting crowds only added to proceedings – as they celebrated every victory – and they all combined to be a hugely successful day.”
