As one of their endeavours to raise money for Pathways, our Sixth Form charity, Year 12 students completed a 5km sponsored Park Run in Beacon Park.

A number of our students volunteer weekly at the event, as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, so they were able to give The Friary a big shout-out at the start.

All of our runners completed the course in very respectable times (though it really was the taking part that counted) and collectively raised £263.12 from sponsorship and donations on the day.

Helen Barratt, Assistant Headteacher said “Park Run is such an inclusive event and it was great to see our students giving it a go for the first time whilst raising money for such a worthy cause in the process”.
