The end of the GCSE-Level is drawing ever closer and so we are reminding students and parents of the arrangements for our Year 11 Leavers’ Assembly and Prom.

Year 11 Leaver’s assembly takes place on Friday 28 June at 9:30am in the theatre. Students are to arrive in school and go straight to the theatre – it is not necessary to wear school uniform. ‘Leavers’ Hoodies’ will be given out at the end of the assembly at 10:30am and the students will leaving the school site by 10:40am.

Elsewhere, our Year 11 Prom is on Monday 1 July at Branston Golf and Country Club. The Prom will start at 7pm and finish at 11pm. We advise all students on the night to start arriving from 6.00pm as there is often a lengthy queue down the drive to the venue. Upon arrival, students will be welcomed along the red carpet by their teachers.

This year there will be a live band, a disco, casino tables and we will also provide a few extra surprises to reward students for their hard work and dedication throughout their time at The Friary. Included in the cost will be a buffet and soft drinks will be available for purchase.

Naturally, no alcohol will be on sale and students must not bring any alcohol or other barred school items like vapes or cigarettes to the venue as it is a ‘No Smoking’ event.

Any outstanding payments need to be paid, in the usual way, via Parent Pay before the event.

Sophie Grigg, Assistant Headteacher, said: “We look forward to a fantastic Leavers’ Assembly and Prom Night that will celebrate the end of Year 11 where students can have fun and enjoy themselves in a safe and responsible manner.”
