Year 10 students Freya Milligan and Imogen Marchesi are Midland Counties Football Champions having representing Staffordshire County Schools at U16s level.
The Staffordshire team defeated Worcestershire 5-4 in an absolutely thrilling, winner takes all, final which was staged on opposition turf at Worcester City FC.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We take huge pride from our students shining outside of school and I was delighted to hear about Freya and Imogen’s success. They are fantastic students in school, and though I was ware they were very talented footballers, I was still thrilled and surprised to hear of this wonderful achievement.”
Elsewhere, Lichfield FC U18 girls team – largely made up of Friary students – have reached the Cup Final and will be playing touh opposition in Port Vale U18 Girls in the final next month.
