The NHS will be continuing with their roll out of school-age vaccinations over the remainder of the academic year after the recent flu vaccines were given out to those children who were due to take them.

Our Year 9 students will have the opportunity to have their Meningitis ACWY and Diphtheria Tetanus and Polio vaccines.

Our Year 8 students will have their HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) later in the school year – dates to be confirmed by the NHS team.

The Schools Team will also be working to identify and offer any missing MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) vaccinations to Year 8 & 9 students. This correlates with the recent BBC news article which reported that there have been a series of clusters of measles cases across the country due to children not being vaccinated.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said; “We continue to work with the School Age Immunisation Team, part of the Midland Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, and they will liaise with a parents over their child’s vaccination pathway as things run through.”
