The Rail Safe Friendly Team has been in contact with us to push the message of safety on rail lines across our community.

They recounted the tragic death of Harrison a Year 7 at Guilsborough Academy, brought home to our community the importance of teaching our children about safety on the railways.

The Rail Safe Friendly Team offer a free safety video you can sign up to see which will be valuable to watch with your child – you can access it here.

This video adds to our wide advice to students on being safe in the community and links with assemblies and tutor time information related to water safety, road safety and fire safety.

Lottie Hearn, Deputy Headteacher & Designated Safeguarding Lead, said: “It is not just the trains that cause danger, but also the electricity as outlined in this video. The case of Harrison’s is desperately sad but we can admire his family for wanting to share their and Harrison’s experiences to prevent others from suffering injury, or even death, through not understanding the risks of railway lines.”
